What is Biblical Counseling?

Biblical counseling is committed to the position that Scripture provides the only authoritative guide for what we are to believe and how we are to live (2 Tim. 3:16-17). The Biblical Counselor is trained in the use of Scripture and the principles of biblical counseling. He or she does not base his or her counsel on man’s wisdom, opinions, experience, or concepts of behavior, (Isa., 55:8-11) but seeks to being the full range of Biblical truth to focus on the counselee’s need (Heb. 4:12). At Biblical Hope Counseling Services we emphasize the importance of change at the heart level.

Biblical Counseling vs. Secular Counseling:

This ministry is dedicated to promoting the sufficiency of the Scriptures, and the ministry of the Holy Spirit as enough for solving the problems of life. Rather than using man’s methods and worldly wisdom we believe that changes in the thoughts, beliefs and desires of the heart is what brings about changes in one’s life.
